Lake House Engagement Dinner

We were inspired to create this engagement dinner spread especially for our photographer Cori and her now fiance (and my brother) Erik. Erik invited twelve family and friends to join in the celebration after he popped the question (she said yes!) on a casual, breathtaking scenic overlook on their drive North to Willow, Alaska to their family cabin. We’ve all been spending weekends there over the past year, so coming together there with friends and family to celebrate felt natural.

Erik chose an organic, cast-not-set gold eternity band from Polly Wales studded with pastel green sapphires that match the green in Cori’s eyes. We pulled inspiration from the ring to create the florals and choose complimenting linens and place settings. A simple natural woven runner echoes the woven pendant hanging above and the table is grounded by a wool pinstripe Pendleton tablecloth.  It all came together to create a lush, green, happy table for the lovers and their friends.

Setting a flower filled dinner for an engagement dinner, like a micro wedding reception, brings a sense of romance, natural elegance and interest to the event. Flowers have a way of marking important events in our lives and the feeling of bringing people together.
