Mariellen and Ivan’s Beluga Point Elopement

Mariellen and Ivan were visiting Anchorage for a short weekend and wanted to celebrate their upcoming marriage privately with a symbolic ceremony. Although their larger wedding is in October of this year, they were envisioning an intimate vow exchange with just the two of them with a beautiful backdrop. They reached out a month prior to their date, and within a few correspondences we had a beautiful Beluga Point elopement planned. The evening was sweet, simple, and allowed Mariellen and Ivan to have just the ceremony they wanted.

During their vow exchange and our time with them, it was a joy to witness Mariellen and Ivan’s connection. It is clear just how much they enjoy each others’ company, and fun to see how they reveled in the gorgeous surroundings. Their particular day was a stormy, windy one in Anchorage! Driving around the corner of Turnagain Arm to Beluga Point brought sun and the faintest breeze that catches the fluttery sleeves of Mariellen’s gown just *so*. Truly an evening to remember, and that glowy golden hour light is perfection!

After their vow exchange, Mariellen and Ivan popped some bubbly and shared a toast on a small bluff overlooking the shore.

Mariellen wanted eucalyptus and babies breath for her bouquet, with some fall colored flowers thrown in. The color of the florals and ribbon tie in with the color of Ivan’s trousers beautifully. We incorporated locally grown dahlias, phlox, statice and scabiosa to bring in fall colors. We always love the way that silk ribbon catches the breeze, adding movement to photos. This Beluga Point elopement is no exception.

Cheers to these two lovebirds and their future adventures together!
