The quaint ski town of Girdwood makes for a mellow paced, scenic setting to relax after this pair’s travels. Jaime and Mitchell traveled across the world together to say “I do” for their Alaska glacier elopement. They made an epic trip out of traveling North all the way from Australia!! We are excited to share the images from their sweet elopement day, we just love how everything came together. It was captured on a mix of digital and film formats using 35mm, 120 film, a box camera, and even a Super 8 camera for video footage. From woodland and icy scenery to an impromptu brewery stop, these two had a day to remember, together.
Jaime and Mitchell got ready in a cozy rustic cabin nestled into the woods. After getting ready, we were able to be creative with the space and have the “first look” moment as planned, just outside of the cabin in a beautiful mossy forested nook.
On the way to the helicopter, we made a scenic riverside stop as we had a little extra time built into the timeline. Skipping rocks and a few pre-ceremony portraits punctuated the short drive to Alpine Air for the helicopter adventure.
Jaime’s bouquet and Mitchell’s boutonniere feature the freshest Alaskan grown double tulips grown right in our gardens in Anchorage. The whimsical fritillaria (the dark chocolatey maroon fairy like blooms) add lovely movement to the bouquet and tie in with the moodier colors in the surroundings.
The skilled pilots with Alpine Air brought us to two breathtaking spots. As pictured, both are glacial but are so different from each other. The first for the Alaska glacier elopement ceremony, and the second for a moment to honor Jaime’s grandfather who recently passed.
We are so honored to support Jaime and Mitchell in their Alaska glacier elopement experience. Many thanks for trusting us with your elopement day!
