When Wayne called on us to help create their Anchorage micro wedding few weeks before their desired wedding date we were ready! These spur of the moment events are among our favorites. Wayne and Jenny trusted us to select their morning ceremony location, coordinate, document, and also create florals for their day. As we know so well, there is wisdom and beauty to having all of these details taken care of. Wayne and Jenny were able to show up and connect with each other and their guests, without distraction.
These two were such a joy to witness as they got married. We sensed how happy and comfortable they are with each other, feelings that seemed to rub off on their guests. Their guests were all at ease as they smiled and laughed throughout the morning during the celebration. Above all, they reveled in each other and the surroundings!
Jenny’s bouquet and Wayne’s boutonniere are packed with locally grown Alaskan dahlias, sweet peas, delphinium, asters and more from local flower farmers and our cutting gardens. We love sourcing local, in season flowers when possible and love when a bouquet like this can come together with 100% locally grown blooms.
Don’t miss the photo of Jenny with her three boys (who wore amazing matching outfits), what a beautiful mama!
After their ceremony, they met up at one of their favorite restaurants with their friends and family, where we brought their wedding cake for their cake cutting after lunch. Their stunning two-tier cake was created by Midnight Sun Cakery. We dreamed up this cake style to reflect the nearby inlet and dusty blue delphinium in Jenny’s bouquet. Anita with Midnight Sun Cakery brings the design to life with her artistry and skill. What a beautiful Anchorage micro wedding, we wish these two and their friends and family many joyful times together!
We absolutely look forward to the next spur of the moment Anchorage micro wedding, this was just too much fun!
