Jaimie and Terry’s marriage began with a simple signing of paperwork at a courthouse ten years ago. Having spent the past ten years creating their love filled, adventurous life together, they craved exchanging traditional vows with one another. They envisioned their Seward vow renewal day to be gentle, low stress, filled with sweet moments amongst their family loving each other. The vows they exchanged, though traditional, reflect the authentic, full lives they have curated and assert their continued commitment to each other.
Seward is famous for its cruise ship harbor, wildlife viewing, and fishing, and is a popular summertime destination for tourists and locals alike. For this couple, Seward is the perfect fall beach destination for their vow renewal and their relaxed extended weekend with their two young boys. The Salted Roots Blue Door Cabin was a cozy, modern cabin venue for their weekend together and their relaxed post-ceremony picnic. The seaside afternoon was breezy and chilly, so after their family stroll on the beach, their picnic shifted indoors so they could completely relax and revel in each other while their boys could join in or retreat to the loft area to play.
We designed their picnic to be a cozy family affair with an elevated feel, bringing in varied pattern and texture. They enjoyed an assortment of fruits, pastries, rolls and butter, wine and sparkling cider.
We were struck again and again by the gratitude and grace with which Jaimie and Terry approached each other and their lives. They were generous in sharing the things that they loved most about each other with us, as well as stories of challenges that they had overcome together and their plans for the future. We left this afternoon with full hearts and are just so grateful that Jaimie and Terry trusted us to curate and document their ten year Seward vow renewal.
