The Add-Ons

Where are you located?
We're based in Anchorage, Alaska but also spend time in Girdwood and Willow, two small towns nearby. We love to explore all areas of the Alaska with our couples and no area of the State is out of range for our services.

What does full service planning include?
We started Outland Events because we saw a need to provide couples with a high-end planning service. Alaska is a large state and has an abundance of beautiful locations. Both lifelong Alaskans, we help with everything from location scouting, assisting you with the marriage paperwork, suggesting and coordinating vendors for your day, helping you decide what you'll both wear, creating an overall design for the day that is a reflection of you, outlining a relaxed timeline, making suggestions for your travel itinerary and lodging, and being your cheerleaders, confidants, stylists, and new friends. Each elopement is created from our hearts and it's incredibly fulfilling to watch our couples experience a day that exceeds their expectations.

How many guests can we bring?
We consider an elopement to be the two of you and a handful of your closest, typically 2-6 guests. Anything beyond that is considered a micro-wedding (especially if there is a meal), which we are also happy to help plan.

Can we bring our dog(s)?
Yes! We have pups of our own and absolutely love when you bring your pups along, they are family after all.

What time of year should we elope?
It's possible to elope any time of year, but we do have recommendations for the best timing within our seasons.
For a winter elopement we suggest Nov, Dec, Jan.
For a spring elopement, March or late May is a unique, quiet time of year to come before the tourist season fully hits (the ice is typically melting April and early May which can make it more difficult to access some areas).
For a summer elopement we suggest June, July, or August. If you're looking for icy blue glacial pools, then mid-June through July is usually best.
For a fall elopement, September and October can be beautiful - just know there's a higher chance of rain and cooler temps. The tourist season will have slowed and it can be a great time of year to experience Alaska tundra fall colors.

Will you help us figure out where we should elope?
We love helping couples figure out the perfect spot, whether that's in Denali National Park, a private lodge, or on a glacier via helicopter. We've been all around the state from the furthest town south to Nome. We'll find a stunning place that feels unique to you and the start to your marriage.

Are travel fees included?
Most locations within an 1.5 hr driving radius of Anchorage do not require a travel fee. If the location you choose requires more driving time, a flight, overnight lodging, or other transportation, the travel expenses will be discussed ahead of time and charged at cost for ourselves and each hired vendor.

Do you help with the marriage paperwork?
After booking we will assist you with everything, this included. There are a few particulars that the state of Alaska requires, but it's easy and we'll walk you through the steps. We can even drop off the paperwork after your elopement so you don't have to worry about taking it on any further adventures.

What's the difference between a symbolic and legal ceremony?
Your legal ceremony is whenever you sign the actual marriage certificate. If you want to do this during your elopement, you'll need an officiant and 2 witnesses (Erin and Cori are often witnesses for their couples). Some people choose to do the paperwork in a courthouse, their hometown, or even with family privately, and are just looking to have a private ceremony and vows just the two of them somewhere beautiful. This is a symbolic ceremony. We've been a part of both and are happy to make suggestions if you're on the fence about which is right for you.

What does the photography coverage include?
The photography coverage with Cori includes all the full resolution files, her time fully editing each image, an online gallery for sharing with loved ones, and optional print and album ordering. As she shoots both film and digital, a preview will be delivered 2-3 weeks after your event. The fully gallery will follow within 6-8 weeks of your date.

We'd love for you to help us plan our elopement, but we're not sure where exactly in Alaska yet. What now?
To give each of our couples the full attention they deserve, we ask that you reserve our services before we help you plan your celebration. To book there's a signed agreement and a 50% non-refundable retainer that secures your date in our calendar. Then we'll figure out the perfect day together!
